Will the candidates put politics on the back burner to pay tribute to Dr. King?
April 3, 2008

Tomorrow marks the fortieth anniversary of the slaying of Martin Luther King, Jr., and presidential candidates will be in Memphis paying tribute to him on the occasion. As part of those tributes, Newsweek is reporting, John McCain and Hillary Clinton will appear together for an NBC News forum honoring Dr. King. If so, the joint appearance, Andrew Romano writes, will be “the first time the Democratic and Republican rivals have appeared on the same stage since posing for a photo-op in between the back-to-back Republican and Democratic debates in New Hampshire on Jan. 6.”

Obama is rumored to be joining his rival and maybe-rival at the forum, as well…but that’s not yet confirmed. Stay tuned.
