It’s heartening that Gov. Palin wants to create drilling jobs in her home state, but even if her numbers are right, ANWR oil is a drop in the barrel—and Gov. Palin’s “expertise” is as well.

I understand why John McCain would want to pick a female running mate. If Barack Obama wins, the country will have its first non-Caucasian president; if John McCain wins, the country will have its first female vice-president. McCain's choice takes away some of the pressure to elect the first of a particular group. However, I can't help but think that he's going about this in the worst possible way. There must be a better-qualified female Republican politician. There has to be. Does John McCain really think that voters can be mollified by Sarah Palin, or is he just this fixated on offshore drilling?

I just read that one campaign
member said they would pull
out of one of the debates if
Tom Brokaw was one of the
moderators. And I don't blame
him. That said. I wish Mr.
Lester Holt would replace
Mr. Brokaw. Lester Holt is
as objective as was Tim Russert
which would qualify him as
moderator of MTP. Enough of
Tom Brokaw already.

Cokie interupted everyone on the panel. Shame on her. That disrespect turns me off.

ADDITIONALLY, MR. BROKAW WAS
QUOTING AS SAYING MTP WOULD
NOT CHOOSE A BLACK MAN BECAUSE
THEN EVERYBODY WOULD SAY THEY
HIRED HIM BECAUSE HE IS BLACK.
NONSENCE. MR. HOLT IS A MAN
OF MERIT WHO IS TOTALLY
MESMERIZING. MAYBE TOM BROKAW
DOES NOT WANT THE COMPETION.
YOU THINK!!!
