Tristan Ahtone (@tahtone) works as Poverty and Public Health reporter for KUNM in Albuquerque. A member of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, he is treasurer of the Native American Journalists Association.

David Beard (@dabeard), director of digital content of The Washington Post, is a former AP foreign correspondant and digital editor of Boston.com and the National Journal.

Raquel Cepeda (@RaquelCepeda) is a journalist, cultural activist, and filmmaker. A former magazine editor, Cepeda directed and produced Bling: A Planet Rock, a documentary about American hip-hop culture’s obsessions with diamonds.

Farai Chideya (@faraichideya) is a multimedia reporter and a Distinguished Writer in Residence at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. She is author of The Color of Our Future.

June Cross (@junecross) is a professor at Columbia Journalism School, where she directs the Documentary Program; her own work focuses on race, class, and public-health issues. Next up: a documentary about healthcare in South Carolina.

Eric Deggans (@Deggans) is the TV/media critic for the Tampa Bay Times, a commentator on TV for NPR, and author of Race-Baiter: How the Media Wields Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation.

Robert Hernandez (@webjournalist) is a professor at USC Annenberg. He co-founded #wjchat, created the Learn Code for Journalism project, and is active in the Online News Assocation (as a board member) and National Association for Hispanic Journalists.

Doug Mitchell (@nextgenradio), a 25-year veteran at NPR, is currently working on a station-focused diversity staffing program.

Raju Narisetti (@rajunarisetti) is head of the Wall Street Journal Digital Network and deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal.

Latoya Peterson (@LatoyaPeterson) is a writer, a 2012-2013 Knight Fellow at Stanford University, and the publisher of Racialicious.com.

Richard Prince (@princeeditor) is a columnist at the Maynard Institute for Journalism Education.

Baratunde Thurston (@baratunde) is the founder of Cultivated Wit, author of the New York Times best seller How To Be Black, and former director of digital for The Onion. He occasionally engages in activity that might be construed as journalism.
