Local Turnout

January 27, 2004

If you have been reading any of the New Hampshire primary coverage then you are aware that William M. Gardner, the New Hampshire secretary of state, said Saturday that he expected a record 184,000 people to vote in the Democratic primary.

Have you ever wondered why so many people are turning out to this year’s primaries? Probably. Have the major newspapers left you hanging? Yes.

Check out these local stories from the Nashua Telegraph(N.H.) and The State(S.C.) that tell us why so many first time voters plan on showing up in New Hampshire, which votes today, and in South Carolina, which votes on February 3rd.
