John Glionna of the Los Angeles Times slips this quote into a piece on why Joe Lieberman’s candidacy didn’t catch on:
Said Elaine Kamarck, a professor at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University: “It was probably a strategic mistake to align himself with McCain early on.”
Kamarck is apparently referring to Lieberman’s attempts to paint himself as a “straight-talker” who can appeal to Independent voters. That’s all well and good, but Glionna doesn’t point out that Kamarck recently endorsed Howard Dean — a detail readers deserve to know.
