Though he’s trying to move on in his work, “I don’t think that I’ll ever finish working on these photographs,” he says of the series about his wife. In September, he released “The Battle We Didn’t Choose: My wife’s fight with breast cancer” as an Apple iBook and as a PDF; fifty percent of the profits from the book go to the nonprofit organization he established to share financial assistance with cancer patients as they undergo treatment.

But his continued work with these photographs isn’t just about bringing out books, mounting exhibitions or managing a nonprofit. “I think that over time as I learn more in general, I will constantly look at these in a different way.”
