Why was Richardson writing about this? It was for a feature called “What We Learned in the Statehouse— Departing governors single out difficulties their successors face — and provide guidance on how to conquer them.”
That’s apparently the best Richardson can come up with: Give Hollywood tax breaks.

You have to love these people’s propaganda about “grassroots” uprisings financed by reclusive billionaires:
Ryan, three words for you: Americans Coming Together.

"The Post shouldn’t have used this anonymous quote unless its source was willing to back it up with evidence. Without that it’s just propaganda."
Welcome to MSM! Indeed, WaPo is unethical here. But when was the last time CJR scolded the AP for its U.S.- and Israeli-friendly propaganda, which quotes "UN diplomats" making spurious claims about Iran's nuclear program? The AP uses unqualified anon-source quoting like neocons use the nonsensical term Islamofascism.

By Ryan's standards above, there are no 'grass roots' groups. Certainly not in the case of the 'uprising' of public-sector workers, who I expect have been getting the same robo-calls from James Hoffa Jr. that arrive in my house regularly. (I haven't received any from the GOP or business groups.) No surprise to regular readers that Ryan sees only one side of these questions.
BTW, there was an election just a few months ago, I believe. It was in all the papers. When Democrats win the White House, backed by Soros money (as well as money from the grass roots of Beverly Hills lawns and Manhattan roof gardens), they also proclaim that the People Have Spoken, etc., in favor of some big social program or other. Then they get waxed in the next election - unwarned about their left-wing hubris by the mainstream media. (Which, by contrast, is invariably warning the Republicans about the danger of pursuing conservative policies. Thanks, guys.) We will find out more if the campaign against public-sector unions resonates with the 'grass roots' in next year's elections. Maybe so. But Ryan doesn't know that outcome yet.
'Right-wing' groups may have been pursuing their goals against unions for some time. So what? That's news? More straw-man stuff. Obamacare was frequently invoked as having been a goal of left-wing groups for decades. The administration went forward in spite of considerable resistance at the 'grass roots', and paid at the polls in November. Maybe the Koch brothers are at least as in touch with mainstream opinion than brother Soros.

"Obamacare was frequently invoked as having been a goal of left-wing groups for decades."
For the last damn time, single payer / universal health care was the goal of left-wing groups for decades.
Obamacare was frequently invoked as the alternative to Hillary care, by the Heritage Foundation back in the day, and as Romneycare more recently. Nixon's health care proposal, which Ted Kennedy shot down, was more left wing.
