* The faulty anecdotes undermine the credibility of the story’s argument, not Bloomberg’s credibility. I’ve changed the second paragraph to better reflect what I meant.

There are still many instances of offshoring going on in Silicon Valley. The net increases are small and many people with great credentials are forced to P/T contract at best, without a regular wage or benefits. The idea that it is a free and easy hiring bonanza, as described by Bloomberg, is false. The entire valley has been degraded and numbed by the downturn in hiring. Most of those over 45 are still struggling and out of work. Just another symptom of the youth-enizing of the valley. Sad story when Bloomberg doesn't even get their stats correct.

Thank you so much for this review. I read the Bloomberg article and took all the info at face value as I just assumed their analysis would have taken these things into account. The level of apparent inaccuracy in that article, based on your fact checking, is quite shocking to me. And looking at the fact that I'm 'shocked,' I'm realizing that I have not been reading nearly critically enough lately, so that is a double thanks to you!
