The New York Times today prints a list of top monthly magazines and ranks them according to whether the number of ad pages in their September issues rose, stayed stable or fell from ad pages in the same month of last year.
Usually if ad placement is thriving, it means a magazine is also enjoying a surge in readership. With that, and no other comment from us, the results:
Magazines which scored anywhere from 26 percent to 44 percent increases in ad pages from a year ago:
Martha Stewart Living
Magazines in which the number of ad pages is essentially unchanged from a year ago.
Magazines in which September ad pages were down anywhere from 15 to 25 percent:
O: The Oprah Magazine
