That’s the number of comments posted to ABC News’s Web site in response to the outlet’s article about Wednesday night’s debate, as of 8:32 this morning.

The latest two comments posted are telling, variety-wise:

Hurray for ABC! Finally someone has asked the questions I wanted Obama to answer! He seemed to have lost a little of his arrogance last night! Thanks ABC.

This was an epic failure of journalism for Stephanoplolis and Gibson, 45 minutes of tabloid journalism. The first portion of the debate seemed like it was sponsored by the National Inquierer. There were no questions about trade policy, a major issue for the host state and the question about not wearing a flag pin, simply stupid. If my fellow Americans think that a person is less patriotic for not wearing some flag pin (probably made in China) then we really have been distracted and asleep since 9/11. I used to watch Stephanopuss show every sunday, but in my view his integrity has been saveerly compromised as a journalist.

The overall tone of the comments, the AP noted (in a piece about the criticism Wednesday’s debate received—which ABC.com posted, perhaps tellingly, in its Entertainment section), was “overwhelmingly negative.”
