On Tuesday, The Guardian posted an excellent infographic, ”The path of protest,” which promises to make the popular uprisings sweeping the Middle East a little easier to follow.
The timeline begins on December 17, when Mohamed Bouazizi set himself on fire in Tunisia, and goes up until today, with Libya’s Gaddafi calling the U.S. and its allies “a bunch of fascists” and Syrian forces killing six civilians in an attack on a Deraa mosque.
Key events are divided into protests, political moves, regime changes, and international/external responses, and plotted along different lines for different countries where they take place. When you click on the graphic for each event, you are directed to an article about that development.
