Last night, The Atlantic officially launched its new aggregator site of opinion and analysis, The Atlantic Wire. You can see the site here and read the “About Us” page here; a Mediabistro write-up of the launch with a breakdown of the site’s ranking of influential pundits is here.
First reaction: a useful digest of elite opinion. (As the “About” page touts, the site is intended as a solution to “a browser window packed with bookmarks or an inbox crammed with RSS feeds.”) Just as importantly, a new tool for status-obsessed journalists to track their link-love and monitor their place in the hierarchy.
