Be Joy Behar (What Would You Ask Obama?)

July 26, 2010

A “non-traditional news show” is how the White House describes ABC’s The View, in explaining to the New York Times‘s Brian Stelter via email why President Obama will appear on the show later this week (taping Wednesday, airing Thursday).

“Morning chatfest” is how The View describes itself.

This will be Obama’s third View appearance since 2004, though his first as president– and the first for any sitting president, as ABC touts via press release. Barbara Walters is returning for the occasion, “her first nationally televised appearance since undergoing [heart valve replacement] surgery.” The hosts, per the release, plan to “touch on topics including his administration’s accomplishments, jobs, the economy, the Gulf oil spill, and family life inside the White House.”

So, be Joy Behar. What, specifically, should the hosts of The View ask the president on Wednesday? (And remember, Behar has been called “the new Edward R. Murrow”).
