Could You Be (Are You Being) “Coerced” Into Reading Time?

In response to (sigh, must we? really? apparently so) Sarah Palin’s latest Facebook post on “death panels,” (particularly the part about what she calls “the coercive effect” of advanced care planning consultations), Time‘s Michael Scherer (long ago of CJR) Twitters just now:

So if a doctor offers TIME magazines in lobby, is that also coercive? Or only if the government helps pay?
