Fox News: Scratch That; Reverse It.

July 14, 2009

On Fox News a few minutes ago, anchor Bret Baier described the “interruptions” during yesterday’s Sotomayor hearings as “about abortion, abortion rights advocates.” Of course yesterday’s interrupters were not “abortion rights advocates.” The opposite, in fact. (The ponytail should have been the giveaway, Bret Baier.)

Also? Related to Greg’s post yesterday, “Supremely Boring. Big coverage for Sotomayor hearings. Little chance of news,” comes this from today’s Washington Post:

The proceedings in the morning were so unremarkable that Nina Totenberg, the veteran Supreme Court correspondent for National Public Radio, could be seen working a crossword puzzle. Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), a man not known for being press-shy, told aides as he bustled out of the room during a short break that “I’m not going to stop” in the ersatz spin room set up outside.

(“Spin rooms.” Cringe.)
