Newsweek’s Jon Meacham (a.k.a, “The Utimate Thinking Person”) has, for the first time in the magazine’s history, brought on a guest editor. Stephen Colbert is editing the June 8 issue of the magazine — or, as the Observer puts it in reporting this news, “Newsweek Turns to Tina [Brown] Tricks.” Meacham told the Observer he was impressed, during a recent lunch with Colbert, with Colbert’s “almost encyclopedic feel for anything that came up.” Colbert told the Observer he’s “confident [the issue will] have mixed results!”
(Will Meacham host The Colbert Report that week? )
