My roundup of right-wing reaction to the arrest of James O’Keefe and three others missed this from David Frum, bolstering his unpredictable conservative credentials:
I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict: the James O’Keefe/Landrieu phone interference case will be resolved with a very stern talking to by a judge, no criminal record, and 100 hours of community service each for the four arrested young people. Which seems about right. After which … you know there really IS a case for aspiring journalists going to journalism school!
O'Keefe and his posse should go to jail ...They broke the law ! A federal offense , no less . The Republicans are the ones who preach about personal responsibility/law and order aren't they? What if Michael Moore had done this under the Bush administration ? He'd be in jail now ...

Ri-i-i-i-ight ... O'Keefe should go to jail for the heinous charge of "entering federal property under false pretenses."
But the folks at ACORN -- who are getting millions of our tax dollars and have no qualms about assisting a purported scheme to smuggle in underage hookers, not to mention conducting voter registration fraud in several states -- should not only be walking free, but continuing to receive the tax dollars of hard-working Americans.
Typical leftist "objectivity." Saul would be proud.

Disregarding the presumption of guilt that is inevitably assigned to any conservative who is accused of anything...
The fact of the matter is that, if O'Keefe's story is correct, he isn't guilty of anything. The crime of which he is accused is "entering federal property under false pretenses to commit a felony." The purported "felony" is "interefering" with a federally owned phone system.
If O'Keefe wasn't there to mess with Landrieu's phones, but instead to get a story about Landrieu hiding from her constituents as he claims, then no crime was committed at all.
But why let the mere truth interfere with another liberal fairy tale, right?
