In My Spare Time? I Scrapbook, Jog, Do a Little Journalism…

Last month, Time‘s James Poniewozik imagined a future for journalists in the “literary-fiction/poetry model” whereby “a lucky few, best-selling creative writers …are able to support themselves through their work [while the] rest work in other fields” and “those who stick with it do it because they’re passionate, but they don’t expect ever to make a living at it.”

In a Q&A at Salon this week, Wired‘s Chris Anderson says:

In the past, the media was a full-time job. But maybe the media is going to be a part-time job. Maybe media won’t be a job at all, but will instead be a hobby.
