On Friday, Brendan Nyhan, The Swing States Project’s New Hampshire correspondent, talked with On the Media’s Bob Garfield about shortcomings in press coverage of the ongoing dispute over Mitt Romney’s tenure at Bain Capital (the subject of Nyhan’s recent post for CJR).
This is a topic The Swing States Project twice tackled last week (in addition to Nyhan’s post, CJR’s Greg Marx contributed this piece) and will likely revisit this week as the Bain controversy continues to make headlines.

Too bad that you guys didn't dig into Obama's past this thoroughly four (4) years ago.

That's your best? The guy got a huge vetting when he was running by an extended H Clinton campaign and a semi-racist McCain campaign. Fox put every swift boat it could launch into the mix and there still wasn't enough.
The truth is the press missed the story on how conservative Obama would be, that the populism was expressed in his biography, but his policies and appointments were centrist, right wing.
Man, it's got to suck when your party is so brain damaged post-Gingrich, post-Bush that the only candidates you can get to run are damaged themselves.
I mean what is this? Nyhan and the fact checkers are running interference for Romney's Bain record, slapping the Obama campaign for their lack of tact?
And you guys attack them asking 'why isn't anybody asking about Obama's record.. of birth.. In AFRICA' ( always with the subtle, eh right wingers?)
It's called friendly fire, reccomend you stop doing it.

Jessica,
I agree. If they had, it might have helped dispel some of the Reverend Wright, Bill Ayres, Kenya birth certificate mythologies.
