If President Obama is in London, no need to ask, Where in the world is Brian, Charlie and Katie? All three network nightly news anchors broadcast from across the pond last night — because, I guess, that’s the way they’ve always done things. And speaking of formalities, which anchor had the best background? Who made the most of the view?
TVNewser breaks it down: “[Brian] Williams is anchoring from NBC’s London bureau.” Dull. Could be a newsroom anywhere…. like, say, at home in New York. “[Charlie] Gibson at ABC’s with a view of Big Ben behind him, while [Katie] Couric is framed by London’s Tower Bridge.” Nice! Both views probably say “Europe” to most American viewers, if not immediately and for certain, “London.”

Reading the teleprompter doesn't change based on where the reader is standing.
There is absolutely no reason that Charlie or Katie or Brian to have mussed their nice clothes on a trans-atlantic flight.
TDSWJS does it nicely practically every night, managing to place their correpondents in front of very convincing green-screens of distant capitals.
None of the Beeg Three have EVER distinguished themselves as real reporters, so the pretense that their being where "thePrez" is specious...aneas
