Lou Dobbs: Requiem for a Dream

November 12, 2009

So Lou Dobbs has been sent to a nice farm upstate, where he will be free to run and jump and play and practice advocacy journalism. Mostly, this news has been greeted with some combination of snark, ennui, and unbridled schadenfreudic delight. Below, some assorted reactions to the news, mostly via Twitter:

The Onion: BREAKING: Lou Dobbs Deported From U.S. — CNN Host Living Illegally In Country Since 1961″

JC Christian: “Lou Dobbs resigns after CNN refuses to build wall around his anchor desk.”

Rolling Stone’s Will Dana: “Now that Lou Dobbs is looking for work, too bad John Hughes isn’t around to cast him as a pompous, power-crazed high school principal.”

TPM’s Eric Kleefeld: “Lou Dobbs leaving CNN, will be replaced by lower-paid anchorman from Mexico.”

James Poniewozik: “Lou Dobbs Gets Off Of CNN’s Lawn”
