But along the way, Playbooker Mike Allen offers the following:
There are thought to be six or seven serious contenders. None is a traditional media company. The titans - Bloomberg, Murdoch, Allbritton - are passing.
Let’s take a quick and dirty look at some 2009 revenue numbers for the media companies owned by those titans:
Bloomberg LP: $6.3 billion
News Corporation: $3.4 billion
Allbritton Communications Company: $0.2 billion
In comparison to Mayor Mike and Rupert, RogerRobert Allbritton doesn’t look so titanic.
But he does stand out in another regard—he’s Politico’s owner and publisher.
