Play of The Day

August 28, 2009

I see that Greg has just made the welcome and requisite point that after a long period where The New Republic’s back catalogue was marooned and inaccessible on some Canadian server, the magazine’s last ten years of copy are now available—a cut off that, in this day, mercifully leaves out the early works of Elizabeth McCaughey—as part of a site wide redesign.

But there’s something fitting in how the relaunch was announced via this morning’s Playbook, Mike Allen’s very chatty email blast that every morning lets Washington machers know what’s what, and has to be one of Politico’s best promotional tools.

So its no surprise that today’s substitute playbooker, The New Republic’s Michael Crowley, has taken the opportunity to use Playbook to puff up his own publication:

NEW REPUBLIC RELAUNCH: TNR.com goes state-of-the-art with a killer redesign.

Killer!! Now that’s what I call winning the morning.
