Last week David Schultz, a reporter for Washington DC public radio station WAMU, had his audio recorder seized by Veterans Affairs officials while recording an interview with an audience member in a hallway outside a public forum.
Under outcry, the VA backed down and agreed to return Shultz’s audio, and today WAMU aired a story including the tense audio leading up to the confiscation. You can listen to the report at WAMU’s site, or at Think Progress, which also has a helpful transcript.

While the VA incident is unfortunate and wrong-headed, your web headline ("Press Freedom Hating Flack Caught on Tape") is inflammatory and unworthy of an organization of the stature of CJR.

Really? A government employee confiscates a reporter's equipment while he's conducting an interview with a veteran at a public forum, and you're upset that I called her a "press freedom hating flack?"
She could have been called much worse.
