–Authored by law student Benjamin Kabak, Second Avenue Sagas tracks transit news across the New York City, with occasional forays into other parts of the Tri-State area. The blog gets its name from its original aim of tracking the progress of the long-awaited Second Avenue Subway. The author also runs the completely unrelated @NYTOnit satirical twitter account.
–The daily Streetsblog is a blend of transit reporting and advocacy for “livable streets,” or urban development that de-emphasizes the role of the automobile in favor of other users of the road. In addition to its own staff, Streetsblog maintains a national network of affiliate blogs with a broadly similar outlook.
—The Transport Politic: written by Yonah Freemark, this blog tracks the progress of major transit projects across the United States, with periodic commentary on both national and local policies.
—Market Urbanism: Urbanism discussion and policy analysis from a libertarian perspective.
—Human Transit: Transit consultant Jarrett Walker discusses developments in transit policy and practice across the western world.
—Greater Greater Washington: Focusing on transit and zoning in the Washington DC region from an urbanist perspective, Greater Greater Washington recently celebrated its five-year anniversary and has branched out into education commentary.
