So. Bristol Palin and her fiance, Levi Johnston — parents of infant Tripp — have, reportedly, broken up. News which has The National Review‘s Kathryn Jean Lopez calling on the media to exercise restraint– namely, Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren (who has interviewed the Palins, um, a lot). Writes Lopez:

It’s hard enough to be a high-school student. It’s hard enough to understand your boyfriend. It’s hard enough to be a pregnant teenager. It’s hard enough to be a young mother. It’s hard enough to be an unwed mother. And in Bristol Palin’s young life, she’s had to have all of this watched and written about. Let the girl live in peace with her child.
