WaPo to Partner with Bloomberg for Global News Service

October 2, 2009

Hot on the heels of news that CBS News and GlobalPost will be pairing up to cover the world beyond our borders…comes the announcement of another foreign coverage team: The Washington Post and Bloomberg. Fishbowl DC –which, best I can tell, got the scoop on the partnership– reports that “the two organizations will offer a selection of content from The Post and Bloomberg News stories to newspapers, Web sites and other subscribers daily.” That selection, specifically, entailing some 120 stories a day.

The partnership will also lead to a new section of the WaPo Web site: “a co-branded Web-based business news page on washingtonpost.com, incorporating content from the Post and from the Bloomberg.com Web site.”

The partnership–which will apparently be named, inelegantly but pragmatically,
The Washington Post News Service with Bloomberg News–will launch on January 1, 2010.
