Today is a day for remembering. MSNBC, as it has every September 11 since 2001, is re-airing, in full, its original coverage of the morning–shock, confusion, realities setting in. The New York Times and The Huffington Post are leading their sites with photos–the Times, a slideshow of today’s memorials; the HuffPo, a striking still of the burning towers–both of them eloquently headline-less.
On Twitter, there’s a makeshift memorial of a different kind: the #whereiwas stream. Some entries, from journalists:
@pwgavin: I was teaching a 7th grade history class in NJ. We quickly sent all kids home. One 5th grader lost a parent in the WTC. #whereiwas
@nancyscola: It was my third or so day of work in the House. We evacuated, and once we got outside the building Capitol Police told us to run. #whereiwas
