Last Night’s Shorty Awards #Winners

March 29, 2011

On Monday night, The Times Center in New York hosted the third annual Shorty Awards, a very silly ceremony “honoring the best producers of short real-time content.” Awards were granted by the Real-Time Academy to the top tweeters in categories like politics, fashion, sports, actors, actresses, charity, and “connecting people.”

The night’s winners are up on the Shorty website now; it’s a funny, motley crew of public and private figures alike. Neil Patrick Harris won in the Actor category, and the Jonas Brothers took home a Shorty for the Music category. The New Orleans Saints won for Sports, and a website called One Stop Poetry won for Arts.

The award for Foursquare location of the year was—shockingly—South by Southwest. And Newark, New Jersey governor mayor Cory Booker won in the Government category; Booker was nominated by one fan “because he uses it 2 connect 2 constituents like no one else.”
