As Megan noted Friday, you can get plenty of Prom News here (headlines like: “Ludacris Looking Forward to His 2nd WHCD, Hopes Wanda Doesn’t ‘Hold Back’”).
And while you could learn, there, that Secretary Napolitano said at a Pre-Prom brunch on Saturday that she thinks we should keep the White House press corps because they “serve a function,” you won’t read about Politico’s Palin-Van-Susteren Experience, wherein a Politico reporter tried to interview Todd Palin at brunch and was cut off by Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren, Palin’s host for the festivities, and told it the meal was “off the record.” And then?
Politico: “Van Susteren…is apparently [Todd Palin’s] host AND handler.”
Greta Van Susteren: “[Politico’s] was an attempt to interview [Todd Palin] when he did not agree to it or ask for it — print paparazzi at a brunch /party!…He was at a social event and not looking to be ambushed by a surprise interview.”
County Fair’s Jamison Foser: “[I]f Fox reporters are going to complain about people being ‘ambushed by a surprise interview,’ they might want to denounce Bill O’Reilly first. Otherwise, they look like frauds.”
(If the O’Reilly reference doesn’t ring a bell, see this and this).
