Carly Fiorina Hands Sean Hannity a New Tagline

June 10, 2010

Yesterday, Carly Fiorina, California’s brand new Republican Senatorial candidate, had herself an open mic situation while waiting to begin an interview with ABC affiliate KXTV. Making headlines are Fiorina’s catty comments about, sigh, Sen. Barbara Boxer’s hair (“so yesterday”), but I’m interested in how she apparently regards Fox News’s Sean Hannity:

I find it really surprising that on the first day of the general Meg Whitman is going on Sean Hannity. I think it’s bizarre … I think it’s a very bad choice actually. You know how he is. Why after saying no to all these [press] people would you go on Sean Hannity?…Sean Hannity is not an easy interview.

TPM’s Christina Bellantoni writes, “It would seem like sort of a no-no for a Republican to speak ill of Hannity, but Fiorina is trying to win in California, after all.”

“Speaking ill” of Hannity? This is promo-clip material for Hannity and Fox News! Sean Hannity. Not an easy interview. Feared by politicians.
