Perhaps you watched your friends at Fox & Friends a few weeks ago playing beer pong above the chyron: “Practice Safe Pong; CDC warns of spreading diseases”? I missed it (until I saw it last night on The Colbert Report). Turns out, the Friends fell for a hoax : a claim that everyone’s favorite drinking game— per the CDC, which has since issued a “this was a hoax” statement— has been linked to the spread of herpes.
