With Lou Dobbs and Sarah Palin both making the rounds in a post-take-this-job-and-shove-it media blitz (Dobbs left his gig as CNN anchor last week, Palin resigned as Alaska governor in July), and with rampant speculation that both quit their gigs in order to run for higher office, comes an inevitable question. Would the pair of populists ever team up to appear on a ticket together, say, for the 2012 presidential race? Can’t you see it? It conjures up a straight outta Main Street fantasy montage of illegal alien fighting, right to bear arms touting, fence building, oil drilling, border patrolling, lipstick wearing pitbulls!
But don’t get your campaign buttons printed up yet. Dobbs dispatched with that dream sequence/nightmare scenario in a TODAY show interview this morning when he told Matt Lauer he wouldn’t vote for Palin. So much for that. Would have made for a great bumper sticker.
