Don’t these things usually go inside?
Behold, the wrap-around, faux-front cover* of the current Newsweek (the new Newsweek, for “thinking persons”?) mailed to subscribers:

In an article inside about “Reinventing Newsweek,” readers are told that “nearly everything about the way the magazine looks will change.”
*This is our black-and-white scan; The original involves more red.

My favorite thing about that hilarious wrap-around was the photo lineup of Newsweek contributors on the back. I scanned it quickly and noticed that Anna Quindlen's last name was misspelled. (I was able to confirm this by looking just inside the *actual* back page, where her column appears.) Niiice.

Reason # 4825 why I canceled my Newsweek subscription.

Great new look... now, if only Newsweek could get hard-hitting disinterested coverage of the General Electric Empire and its vassal kingdoms. Too bad Newsweek is one of said vassal kingdoms.
