When it comes to The Future of News, the challenge isn’t just finding models that will sustain good journalism…but finding scalable models for doing that–frameworks that achieve, in the most basic terms, breadth as well as depth.

One way to do it: make a local news platform’s coding 100 percent open-source–which is to say, completely free–to anyone who wants to replicate it. As Spot.Us founder Dave Cohn has done today.
