A little less than two weeks ago, I wrote a post noting the press’s love for stories about how the president is bungling his approach to Congress: whether he is, at a given moment, adopting an assertive public posture or a low-key approach, some quote machine will be at hand to say he’s doing it all wrong.
So it’s only fair to note a story in today’s New York Times that takes the opposite tack: “Obama Strategy on Health Care Legislation Appears to Be Paying Off.”
Will we soon see a story staking out the contrarian ground that presidential strategy isn’t the be-all and end-all of legislative outcomes? Stay tuned…
