Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina apologizes and seeks forgiveness via guest column in Sunday’s The State. In part:
It’s in the spirit of making good from bad that I am committing to you and the larger family of South Carolinians to use this experience both to trust God in his larger work of changing me and, from my end, to work to becoming a better and more effective leader.
Not much forgiveness happening yet, if a quick glance at the first page or two of the 250-plus comments to Sanford’s piece is any indication (darn reader comments, interfering with proper, dignified message dissemination).
UPDATE:…and then there’s the press coverage of Sanford’s apology column. Not too forgiving, either.
