When Reporters Are the Enemy: Practicing Journalism in Hostile Regimes

The Columbia Journalism Review explores the dangers of reporting under some of the world’s most restrictive governments. Fatima Faizi (Afghanistan), Stanislav Kucher (Russia), and Anisha Dutta (India) join CJR editor Josh Hersh for a conversation about their experiences reporting from, and on, their home countries—as well as the current situation in the US, where reporters face growing pushback on fundamental freedoms of the press.
