Did we really expect the committee to award the olympics to a state noted for high murder rate oy young people. After all that's what the Olympics is composed of the worlds best conditioned young people. I don't think the President had a chance with the worlds eyes on Chicagos death rate during his visit

It has nothing to do with Chicago's crime rate. Rio has a high crime rate as well. Why did Rio get it and not Chicago?
It had to do with Obama going there and making a case that the Olympics should be held in Chicago so that he and his little girls can go from their house to the games. Huh???? Who the hell cares about THEM?? Obama made the issue all about him, as if the Olympic Committee should be so HONORED to PLEASE him. And the Olympic Committee made a point in that first vote of telling Obama "Oh yeah? Well go to Hell!". I LOVE it!
This, BTW, was the first major blow to Barry's ego. A much bigger one is coming in 2012.
