Advice for Diane Sawyer for her inaugural outing, reportedly to take place in January, as the new anchor of ABC’s World News: Whatever you do, don’t wear white that first night. (Nor should you wear an “oatmeal-colored blazer with a distractingly floppy collar,” like that last World News she-anchor.)
Advice for ABC News (attn: marketing department): drop that air brush.

Just curious. Why all the emphasis on her gender? I had kind of hoped we got past that by now -- we've had news anchors that were women since, what? '79? '80? Walters? Or are we just going to have to put up with snide, catty remarks by female journalists about what prominent women should wear and how they should look in front of a camera in ways they'd never say about a male. I don't mind the claws coming out so much as I don't really understand where it's coming from. Of course, Chris Matthews is one of the girls too.
I'd much rather talk about her rightwing leanings -- ex-Nixon staffer, horrifically nasty and unprofessional interview of Natalie Maines, avid, slavish Bush worshiper.

Tom,
I'm glad you are advising the press to walk in lockstep behind President Obama and the Democrats.
Considering that same policy was advocated by the German National Socialists back in the 30's and 40's, the Fourth estate should be an extended branch of Government when the Left runs things.
After all, as a Jew, I have no fear of a complaint press walking in lockstep behind ANY FUCKING POLITICAL PARTY.
Right?
