All War Planning, All the Time?

August 9, 2005

We were watching yesterday’s debut episode of CNN’s “The Situation Room” this afternoon, and we couldn’t help but notice that Wolf and Co. missed the real story. CNN took us inside what Blitzer dubbed a “high tech, top secret command center,” the Northern Command in Colorado, which works to keep America safe from terrorists. As the cameraman gave us a shot of the command center, correspondent Kyra Phillips explained how the people there are “all war planners. They’re always preparing for war.”

Well, maybe not always, Kyra.

Because while Homeland Security is important, it really can’t compete with America’s fourth most popular spectator sport.
