ProPublica, the nonprofit investigative group, has rounded up a mother lode of Obama administration financial disclosures. They’re asking readers to help them comb through the data and pull out the interesting bits (ie, the dirt).
President Obama’s administration came to Washington pledging transparency and accountability in government. The White House has demanded strict new ethics requirements and signed pledges from appointees to abide by the rules. The records don’t seem to be available from single office, and moreover the government insists on giving them out by request only. We’re cutting out the middleman, and posting them, in a single location, for the first time.
I like it.
Here’s your chance to give back for all that free news you consume.

Have you gained any information regarding the statements Keith Olbermann on Countdown gave last night (4/7/09) regarding Obama's administration not being sued or taken to court by anyone just as he and Holder do not plan to take the Bush Administration to court for their wrongdoings??? I have checked the NY Times and Washington Post and Huffington News but I find nothing. Was Olbermann's statement incorrect or are the editors of the "best" newspapers around holding it back as they did with the wiretapping, CIA actions at Gitmo and Afghanistan and Abu Gharaib in Iraq??? If so, I had expected better from both the Obama Administration and the newspapers. Could somone here at CJR find out??
