Like does not approve of Elizabeth Edwards’s visit with Oprah last week (“the ghastly car crash of her Oprah appearance”) or Mrs. Edwards’s sit-down, in her “brave blue cardigan,” with Matt Lauer on the Today show this morning. Writes Brown:
Someone in Elizabeth Edwards’ life should have been found to beg her to desist from this muddled act of self-destruction, if not her husband, then her agent, her publisher, and how much should we blame ourselves in the media?
(Not much?)
If Mrs. Edwards wanted to keep “our sympathy,” Brown contends, she should have “stuck to [discussing] her health and her loss” and avoided any negative talk about The Other Woman. (And, maybe, ditched that pity-me-blue cardigan?)
