Last week, I noted the Newsweek faux-cover/cover-wrap congratulating editor Jon Meacham on his Pulitzer win and dubbing Meacham “The Ultimate Thinking Person.”
On Saturday, in front of a New York Observer reporter, “The Ultimate Thinking Person” ignored Natalie Portman at Newsweek‘s White House Correspondents Dinner pre-party in order to talk “numbers” with Obama economic adviser Austan Goolsbee.
Last week, I suggested (based on that Meacham-centric cover-wrap) that the new Newsweek might be renamed Meacham’s Weekly. This week, Meacham tells the Observer “he wants readers who are interested in ‘what I’m interested in.’”
